About University’s Standardisd Test

In order to help you understand your academic proficiency, we will arrange for you to participate in our University’s Standardised Test. There are two test options: ETS Proficiency Profile (ETS) (https://www.ets.org/proficiencyprofile/about) and Academic Proficiency Test (APT), you will be assigned to take either one (see the below table for more details).

Academic Proficiency Test (APT)

Developed in US and focusing on:

  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Critical thinking
  • Mathematics

Originated from Asia and focusing on:

  • Use of English
  • Use of Chinese
  • Aptitude


Both international/regional benchmarked

The test result will be useful to the development of your academic specialty and generic skills. The University is sponsoring the cost of the Test, so participation for you is free. When you have completed the Test successfully, you will receive a Certificate of Completion, and other incentive as appropriate, as a token of encouragement.


For Year 1 Students:Entry-level proficiency


12-14, 17-18, 24, 26-28 August 2015


Coming at any time from 10:00am to 6:00pm

You will receive our letter in your enrollment day and email reminders, please follow the details to take the Test in person 


For Students of Year 2 and above: Progressive proficiency

The Standardised Test is normally arranged between mid-March and early April. We will place poster in campus and inform you by emails in late February or early March.
