Title: Whole Person Education and Experiential Learning
Speaker/s: Prof. Guy Claxton
Co-Director of the Centre for Real-World Learning (CRL); professor of the Learning Sciences at the University of Winchester; the originator of the educational Building Learning Power programme.
Abstract: Hong Kong Baptist University and Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (“UIC”) are both well known for their shared commitment to Whole Person Education. To celebrate this commitment a jointly hosted seminar on Whole Person Education will be held on 22 October 2010 (Friday) at Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (“UIC”) at the campus in Zhuhai (please see the poster). We hope you will
be able to join us at this event which will reflect the close association between the two institutions. Places are limited so please book early!

Biography:

Since September 2008, Guy Claxton has been Co-Director of the Centre for Real-World Learning (CrL), and Professor of the Learning Sciences, at the University of Winchester. He previously held the same title at the University of Bristol Graduate School of Education. He has a ‘double first’ from Cambridge and a DPhil from Oxford, and is a Fellow of the British Psychological Society and the Royal Society of Arts, and an Academician of the Academy of the Social Sciences. His books have been translated into many languages including Japanese, Greek, Italian, German, Spanish and Portuguese.
