Introduction

HKBU is dedicated to provide broad-based and creativity-inspiring whole person education to cultivate graduates with attributes that help them become responsible citizens for the betterment of our society. A strategic action in line with the University’s Vision 2020 is to develop and implement a robust quality assurance framework. To achieve this, the CHTL has initiated the Formative Review Exercise (FRE), a longitudinal study seeking to collect empirical data for a relatively direct assessment on the quality of teaching and learning within the framework of the outcomes-based teaching and learning (OBTL) at HKBU. The FRE is designed to assess the quality of student learning in terms of providing evidence on how effectively the unversity courses and programmes are progressing towards building a
teaching and learning environment that fostering students’ achievement of the University Graduate Attributes.
