人文素质教育

Introduction

The Arts and Cultural Education Programme (ACEP) was first launched in 2002 and is an educational endeavour at the cutting edge of the University’s vision of whole person education. In order to eliminate the interference from external motives such as the “stick” (punishment) and “carrot” (reward), all courses in this programme are non-credit bearing. The programme consists of a collection of workshops series on arts, social, cultural, creative thinking, and various aspects of personal development.

The programme seeks to help students grow as Whole Person, by providing opportunities to develop various generic skills and the 7 HKBU Graduate Attributes (GAs).
With the establishment of the OBTL at HKBU, each course adopts the OBTL approach with clear intended learning outcomes aligned to the GAs.

Medium of instruction:
Cantonese, Mandarin, English

Programme Intended Learning Outcomes

By the end of this programme, students should be able to:

  1. Identify their own learning strategies and goals for personal development in university study.
  2. Exhibit the awareness of arts and cultural diversity through participation of various arts and cultural activities.
  3. Effectively analyse and solve both existing and emerging problems as individual and as a team member in a team.
  4. Explain the dynamic interplay between self, social environment and culture in local and global contexts.
  5. Communicate knowledge clearly through workshop activities/site visits.

All students are welcome to register for the Arts and Cultural Programme and certificate(s) will be presented to students who have satisfied the requirements of individual courses.
