Panopto is an online video platform designed to help educators and content creators master video capture, management, and interactive video learning. This session will guide participants through Panopto’s key features, including recording, editing videos, embedding quizzes, and analysing viewer engagement, to enhance teaching and learning experiences.

Whether you're new to Panopto or looking to maximise its potential, this workshop will equip you with the skills to produce, manage, and share high-impact video content effectively.

Abstract:

Mentimeter is designed to help teachers and students create engaging, real-time polls, quizzes, and interactive presentations. This session will provide a step-by-step guide on setting up Mentimeter, designing dynamic slides, and utilising its key features, such as live word clouds, Q&A sessions, and audience feedback tools, to enhance participation and learning outcomes. Participants will have the opportunity to practice building their own interactive presentations and explore best practices for fostering active learning in both physical and virtual classrooms. This workshop will equip you with practical strategies to make your sessions more collaborative and impactful.

By the end of this workshop, you should be able to:

  • Identify useful functions of Mentimeter for conducting interactive classes;
  • Apply the tips for creating presentations/projects with Mentimeter.

Abstract:

To facilitate your teaching and enhance student learning, it is useful for teachers to get familiar with the fundamental functions available in Moodle. The adoption of Learning Management System (LMS) is in line with the University’s vision to promote quality teaching and learning through different endeavours.

This workshop will provide participants with an overview of the basic functions available in Moodle and setting up an Internet-based plagiarism detection service, Turnitin. Guidance on preparing a courseroom and tailoring various activities, together with know-how to manage the Turnitin setting for essay assignment via Moodle will be covered.

By the end of this workshop, you should be able to:

  • Identify basic functions available in Moodle;
  • Use basic functions in Moodle on enhancing teaching and student learning;
  • Manage online essay assignment by using Turnitin via Moodle.

To facilitate data collection through survey creation, it is beneficial for teachers to become familiar with Qualtrics, an online survey tool available at HKBU, which supports teaching and research. In this workshop, you will learn how to create and administer a survey using various question types such as:

  • Survey design and creation from Standard to Advanced Question Types;
  • Survey Sharing and Collaboration;
  • Logic and Survey Flows;
  • Dashboard Reports;
  • Survey Distribution Options.
  • Experience sharing with using Qualtrics for facilitating teaching and learning

By the end of this workshop, you should be able to:

  • Identify basic functions available in Qualtrics for creating surveys;
  • Collaborate on a survey with colleagues;
  • Distribute surveys to students or colleagues.
